Our Pastor

Dr. Dan Carr, Sr. and Mrs. Mickey Carr

Born in Meridian, Mississippi and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi, Pastor Dan Carr came to Christ at age 16 after attending a revival meeting through the influence of his sister. He pursued Christian education, where he met his wife, Mickey. The two married in 1981 and began serving faithfully in their local church.
In 1985, at just 22 years old, Pastor Carr surrendered to the call to preach and became the founding pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport. With a passion for souls and a heart for ministry, he and Mickey began with a small group of nine people and have seen God grow the church steadily over the past 40 years.
Together, they raised 11 children—9 biological and 2 adopted—and built a thriving, soulwinning ministry that continues to impact lives in Gulfport and beyond. Under Pastor Carr’s leadership, Faith Baptist Church has outgrown six auditoriums and continues to reach people every week with the gospel.
