Bus Ministry
Pastor Dan Q. Carr, Sr., started Faith Baptist Church in 1984 in a rented building on South Highway 49. A year later, we purchased a church facility on W. Railroad Street. There we saw God’s hand of blessing as we built a new worship center in 1997. Rapid growth and the lack of available land to build on necessitated a bold step to relocate. After much prayer, the Lord led us to build our beautiful new facility at 8467 Canal Road, one mile south of I-10. For 27 years Pastor Carr, a Gulfport native, has led the church in offering a full service and friendly ministry. For more than 20 of those years, the church has provided a ride to every service. We are glad to be in your neighborhood and want to thank you for receiving us.
We Offer. . . .
1. Door-to-door bus service.
2. Sunday school for all ages (currently 25 different classes) with a teaching program organized specifically
for your children.
3. Fully-staffed nursery so that the entire family can attend.
4. Morning Junior Church for children in grades 1-6.
5. Sunday morning preaching services for teens and adults.
Faith Baptist currently uses six buses and two vans to provide transportation to families in Gulfport, Long Beach, Pass Christian, and Biloxi. Our pickup times are usually between 8 and 9:30 a.m.with everyone being dropped off by about 2 p.m. On Saturday, everyone who rides our buses receives a visit or phone call from a bus worker. During this visit, a pick-up time and any activities are announced. Workers are always available for any questions you have or any assistance you need. On Sunday morning, a wake-up call may be given before the bus, driven by a CDL-licensed driver, arrives in front of your house. At church, workers guide visitors to their classes. After church, bus workers take attendance to account for all riders, and they ensure safety during pickup and drop-off times. Children must be 4 years old to ride without a parent; big sister or brother may not bring them. For transportation, please call the church offices at 228.863.6993. We hope to see you soon!
